I wanna take the time to blog about MY current favorite basketball player
“Mr. Explosive” Rusell Westbrook.
What amazes me about this dude is that he is never scared. Similar to derrick rose because when they attack the rim…they ATTACK. if anyone remembers Rusell dunking on Lamar Odom last playoffs or even this season when he posterized Shane Battier (THAT WAS NUTS) dude can definitely dunk yo…and what about that windmill he did this year? damn. I think he’s one of the best overall and well rounded Point guards in the nba right now. His numbers this season are not your average point guard’s numbers.
while Playing at 34.7 Minutes Per Game
he’s been averaging:
scoring 21.9 Points Per Game
dishing out 8.2 Assist Per Game (9th in the NBA)
robbing other basketball players at 1.9 Steals Per Game (4th in the NBA)
rebounding at 4.6 Rebounds Per Game (gotta remember folks he’s a point guard dont expect him to be rebounding in the 10’s.haha)
all this and even taking on the challenge when Kevin Durant was injured for a few games. I remember they played the celtics without KD and it was no problem. Rusell tookover lead the team and carried them to the victory over the celtics, and it wasn’t even a problem. Alot of people overlook him just because he isnt as big of a name as KD or D.Rose or Kobe etc but thats why i feel like he’s so underrated. If anyone remembers the this year’s All-star game he fits right in with the best in the world. He broke D-Wade’s ankle like it was nothing and made the basket.
I just love watching exciting basketball players and he’s one of them. He EXPLODES outta nowhere you never expect it and I love that because when you see it, it’s even more mind blowing.
so hopefully the Thunder will get their shot at winning a championship this year, they look pretty damn good and i love watching how they play. You can see their chemisty, their trust and their determination to win.
